I love teaching and coaching because I love inspiring students to find joy in learning. Each day is a new day full of educating, inspiring, and motivating. I firmly believe that all students are capable of learning and achieving success given the correct tools. I believe that every child can be motivated to tremendous depths of learning. Every child is a learner, and every child is a teacher. It is my job and mission to educate and engage every single child in this 21st century society. An exemplary transformational education starts with wholehearted quality instruction. I believe that first and foremost teachers need to foster a sense of community within their classroom to ensure that students feel comfortable participating and sharing ideas. "Relationships first, everything else second." In order to maximize this positive classroom environment, students need to be given choices. Students pick topics of their choice to ignite their learning! Students should be viewed as responsible choice makers who can make decisions in regards to their learning styles, devices, and learning spots. By getting to know students personally, teachers can provide differentiation in their lessons. Knowing students personally also helps teachers to purposefully plan lessons that are relevant to their students’ lives. When planning lessons, students need to take into consideration the needs of the students and provide many different opportunities for collaboration, whole group work, and individual work. Teachers also need to be coached how to utilize multi-sensory instruction and tech integration in order to provide multiple different access and exit points in a lesson making students' knowledge visible at all times. Students should be given the chance to succeed in an environment where they are believed in to reach remarkable achievement. A transformational education also includes purposeful and meaningful technology integration. Technology is used to engage, assess, and develop a student centered classroom. This type of learning will motivate students and further develop 21st century skills in our students. This type of transformation education also incorporates components of project based learning. Students learn much deeper through meaningful experiences. Students need opportunities to engage & experience real life phenomena. These opportunities make their connections and learning experiences very powerful. Students need to be given chances to collaborate, communicate, think critically, and use their creativity on a daily basis. Giving students these opportunities on a daily basis will not only develop self-regulated learners who can persevere, but it also will begin to prepare our kiddos for this 21st century life. Taking in a step further, teachers need to be coached how to use technology to allow students to connect globally, allowing students to travel outside the walls of their classrooms. But most importantly. in order for transformational change to truly occur, a purposeful vision needs to be aligned with goals.
